Equipment Needed
TYR Hydroblade Fin, TYR kickboard, water bottle, snorkel, tempo trainer, paddles, buoy, mesh bag for storage
Prerequisites
Prerequisites
- Coach invitation only
- Based on training and goals
- At least one Wisconsin LSC QT is recommended
Practice Details
~1:30 minutes per practice, offered 6-8 times per week plus dryland
Six in-water plus two dryland practices will be expected
Competition
- Targeted in-season meets and multiple sessions of championship meets are expected
Training Trips and Travel Meets
- Attendance in the annual training trip / travel meet is expected
In-Water Focus
The performance group will have a season plan in which they train in a variety of ways:
- technique/drill sets
- aerobic work
- anaerobic work
- days of each stroke
They will get video feedback and conduct stroke analysis of some of the best swimmers in the world. Training and racing will be with a plan. Weekly meetings will discuss split strategies, nutrition, mental preparation, and dealing with success/failure
Other Notes
The Performance group will put more emphasis on consistent intensive training, commitment, meet attendance, and working towards the highest level of competition.
Starting with the swimmer's freshman year, the coaching staff will provide guidance on how to prepare for swimming after high school provided the swimmer is interested in pursuing college swimming.
