Allen Pringle finally put the Mighty Marlins on the board, with 4 points in the last event of the meet, the 50-breaststroke. Allen’s very fast clocking of 28.03 in that event earned him 13th place at the Senior Washington State Championships in Federal Way. Ava Thompson and Anna Paul represented the Mighty Marlins Swim Club at the 2024 Short Course Pacific Northwest Swimming Association (PNS) Championship in Federal Way, at the King County Aquatic Center, the weekend of December 13-15. Ava led the way with 5 top 16 finishes. She was 6th in the 200-free, 7th in the 50 free, 8th in the 500-free, 10th in the 50-backstroke, and 14th in the 100-backstroke. Allen Pringle, Lucas Palmer, and Lloyd Hau will be competing in the Senior Sectionals Champs meet in Federal Way March 15th. All 3 have qualified in the 100 breaststroke. This prestigious meet has seen the likes of Missy Franklin and Nathan Adriance. They have been swimming in the morning to prepare! (We had a Nanako sighting as well!) Mighty Marlins Swimmers Improved despite limited practice time! I know people on our team are changing their schedules, and driving great distances, to swim as much as they can. The Mighty Marlins hosted a hugely successful Divisional Champs Meet at MP Pool.  It was all hands on deck, literally, as multitudes of Marlin parents helped their kids enjoy success by devoting their time and energy to the meet.  Two Marlins won the overall award for top score in the pentathlon for 10 & unders.  Sakura Gabor won all 5 of her events on the way to the award, and Andrew Gaydamachuk took 4 of 5.  Marlins with individual victories included Lucas Palmer with 6, Madelynn Butler, Lloyd Hau, and...

In his last chance to make a PNS Champs time, Lloyd Hau dropped 10 seconds in the 200 breaststroke, easily making the qualifying time.  At the meet several Marlins were victorious.  Karlie Rimat won all 6 of her events, Sakura Gabor won 4 and made a regional time, Madelyn Butler won 3, and Lucas Palmer and Anna Veazey each won one event.  Other Marlins with top 6 finishes included: Emma Betancourt, Natalie Divita, Shaan Kumar, and Gideon Marlatt.

Katelyn Darrah took 3rd in the 50 breast, and Lincoln Thompson was 8th in the 100 back at the Q Meet in Federal Way!  Marlins with best times at the meet included: Devyn Zurel with 3, Brie Thompson and Philip Wold 2 each, and Evan Wold, Shaan Kumar, and Ryker Lichtenberg 1 each!  Way to Q it up Marlins!

Madelynn Butler led the way at the Chinook Pentathlon in Mercer Island.  She took first overall in the Pentathlon, where all 5 events you swim are calculated together to determine the overall champion.  Lincoln Thompson, Philip Wold, and Sakura Gabor, each scored in the top 6 overall earning themselves a trophy!  Natalie Bennett, Katelyn Darrah, Shaan Kumar, Brie Thompson, Kaitlin Wegers, and Evan Wold also swam very well at the meet!

For the Hau family Jetlynn had 5 victories, Hoylynn 3, and Lloyd 1 at the Fall Thunderbird in Anacortes. Other Marlins with victories included Josh Christos and Philip Wold with 2 each, and Lucas Palmer and Leah Taylor 1 each.  Many Marlins had top 6 finishes including: Alexis Bennett, Natalie Bennett, Julian Bunney, Mila Carrasco, Madie Elsner, Isaac Giordano, Matt Owen, Lawren Rainey, Alec Villa, and Audrey Ziemer.  Marlins swimming best times or swimming their first meet ever included: Jayden Boyle, Katelyn Darrah, Kylie Larreau, Morgan McEwen, Isaac Olson, Evan...
