WORKOUT CHANGES

The SUMMER TRAINING SCHEDULES are posted in our Schedules section. Please note there is one remaining schedules beginning July 4.      

There are also schedules for those swimmers competing at the National Championship meets that go into effect this week.  These schedules have now been distributed.

 

CONGRATULATIONS to our 19 swimmers who competed at the Junior Provincial Championships in Etobicoke.  Our squad had a very impressive 75% best times ratio (72/95) and we had a total of 27 top 8 finishes, including 12 trips to the medal podium.  Special congratulations to JENNA ROMAN for her outstanding performances, collecting medals in all 6 of her races in the 11 year old girls age category, including 1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.  Her brother Matt came home with 4 bronze medals in the 17 year old boys age group, and Maggie MacNeil swam to 2 third place finishes in the 11 year old girls category, as well as 2 4th and 2 5th place finishes.  Others who finished in the top 8 were Jessica Allen, Shayna Lewis, Nicholas Mitchell and Aiden Riekenbrauck.  Also notable were those swimmers who were a perfect 100% in recording personal bests: Jessica Allen, Dominic Cappa, Josef Liska Guzman, Leah Mayer, Nicholas Mitchell, and Paige Walker.  Finally, first-time Junior Provincial competitors Lauren Blaha, Nathan Lethbridge, Kexin Meng, William Stewart and Paige Walker all competed with the confidence of seasoned veterans!  Also representing LAC proudly and well were Vincent Cappa, Gabrielle Dagasso, Mark Gilmour and Camille Ryan.  Well done everyone. 

 

CONGRATULATIONS to Jake Armstrong, Richard Hortness and Matt Kwatyra for their bronze medal finishes at the Quebec Cup in Montreal.  Joe Bartoch, Brayden Salmon and Robert Wise all had top 8 finishes, while Ryan Mitchell and Kristine Walker also represented LAC at this world-class event.

 

GOOD LUCK to JOE BARTOCH, who departs for Singapore and a staging camp with the rest of the Canadian squad, before heading to Shanghai, China for the World Championships later in July.

 

DR. PAUL HAUCH MEET

There have been some time changes for the Hauch Meet.

FridayWarm Up 12 & under 1:30 – 2:00 pm and 13 & over 2:00 – 2:30 pm

Saturday Warm Up 12 & under 8:00 – 8:30 am

Saturday Warm Up 13 & overs 12:15 – 1:00 pm

Sunday Warm Up 12 & under 8:00 – 8:30 am and 13 & over 8:30 – 9:00 am

Travel Accounts Statements
There are still a number of accounts still outstanding; please take a few minutes to pay either by leaving at cheque in LAC box @ CGAC, by mail or on-line. For families who are not swimming past the Dr. Paul Hauch meet, a final travel statement will be sent out in the next week.

DR.PAUL HAUCH MEET - EQUIPMENT SET-UP
 
We still need a few people to help with equipment set-up. We do not use the touch pads at the Paul Hauch meet but there is additional work that does need to be done due to the location of the meet. You help will be required late morning/early afternoon on Friday plus at the conclusion of the meet on Sunday. Please contact Dmitry directly at [email protected] if you can assist. 
 

DR. PAUL HAUCH MEET – CANTEEN SIGN UP

One volunteer is still needed for canteen on Friday, 1:30-5:30 pm. Please email Leslie to volunteer for this session: [email protected]

LAC SWIM CAMP

Click here to view this year’s schedule for LAC’s Swim Camp. Take time to read the schedule’s pick up and drop off sections carefully as they are not always the same. Please take note that it is a PEANUT FREE camp, and all equipment bags (ex. Fins, snorkels, etc.) will NOT be needed for practice.

 

BINGEMANS DAY TRIP

LAC swimmers born before 1999 that have signed up for the Bingemans Day Trip on Monday, July 11 please bring in a cheque for $35 made payable to LAC. The bus leaves Thames Pool at 9:00 am and returns to Thames Pool at 5:00 pm. There is still room on the bus, if you wish to attend please contact Donna ASAP.

 

PHOTOGRAPHS

CALLIE COULTER has offered to put together the slide show for the October 2011 awards banquet.  Anyone with photos taken throughout the 2010-11 swim year can give their photos to Callie either on a flash drive or DVD.  Thank you Callie...we look forward to the show!!
