USMS Northwest Zone SCY championships Recap: Dan and Eileen Harris were the only swimmers from SWAT.  We swam both days and scored 62 points for SWAT On Sat the first event was the 50 Free - Dan went 27.4 (not fast enough) and came in 2d to a  guy from Tacoma.  Eileen swam a 31.25 and placed 1st.  Next was the 100 Free Dan did a 1:01.01 (not fast enough) and placed 1st and Eileen did a 1:09.46 to win the women's 45-49 race.  Think these were all PRs for...

Madi Lydig and I flew to Florida last week to compete in her first ever Jr. Nationals.  It was a blast!  Madi had been on a tear of the last 7 weeks, starting her championship season with a bang at the Missouri Grand Prix, and this was the final meet in Orlando, Florida.  This meet was competed in and 25 Yard pool, very different from the Olympic 50M course, which she swam best times in at both the Grand Prix and Sr. Sectional meets.  She Kicked it off with the...

7 of the teams top swimmers headed over to the King County Aquatics Center for the Western Regions Speed Champion Series (Sr. Sectionals).  It was a blast.  Every Olympic year, instead of running the usual 25 yard shorts course events(scy), the meet was long course, 50 Meters (lcm).  Our kids, who had not had a chance to train or race in a 50 meter pool since the end of summer, swam awesome.  We broke 10 individual team records, and 1 relay record.    Thursday: The meet kicked off with the...

134 swimmers, representing nearly 2/3 of our entire team, participated in our annual Shamrock Shake Up Invitational at Whitworth this past weekend.  It was a fantastic meet, with lots of fast swims and loud cheers.  12 & under swimmers represented nearly 71% of all swims this past weekend, with several competing in new events for the first time ever.  Nearly 60% of all 12 & under swims were lifetime best performances—a pretty cool number considering we had many DQ’s in breaststroke, butterfly, and IM.  While we’re still working on refining...

7 Swimmers to Coeur d'Alene! This past Saturday, seven Waves Masters swimmers went to Coeur d'Alene to their before last meet of the season. The swimmers were Kathryn Shaw, Eileen Harris, Emily Johnson, Jaime Giraud, Rick Mocabee, Dan Sheahan and Harm-Jan Steenhuis. None of us swam the longer distance events (1500 Free and 400IM) and the first event was the women's 200M freestyle relay where the ladies took first place.
