82 Spokane Waves Swimmers came to conquer the 2010 Triple Pentathlon, competing against foes from as close as…well, Spokane, and as far away as Wenatchee. It was an epic weekend; there were close races, massive time drops, and even some playing outside in the sun. Here’s what went down: 79 of our 82 swimmers swam at least one lifetime best time. Swim-A-Thon 2010 Hawaiian Daze Swim-A-Thon is Spokane Waves one fund-raiser each year. Swimmers earn money for our team by swimming lengths of the pool. Participants collect donations or per lap pledges from friends, family, local businesses, etc. prior to swimming. Pledges are collected prior to the Swim-A-Thon day unless they are a per lap pledge. Swimmers are allowed up to two consecutive hours to complete as many laps as they can (200 maximum). Each swimmer will need to bring a parent or friend to keep track of their completed lengths. 12 Waves swimmers headed over to Federal Way, Washington this past weekend to compete in the Northwest Age Group Sectional Meet, at the beautiful Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. This is the premier 18 and under meet in the region, consisting of the best swimmers from Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Washington.
