2022 CHINOOK PENTATHLON RECAP On November 6th, IST athletes and coaches attended the Chinook Pentathlon at Mary-Waite pool on Mercer Island. Pentathlon-style meets serve as a great opportunity for IST swimmers to demonstrate their comfort, familiarity, and expertise in the four competitive strokes. 2022 14&U OCTOBER CHALLENGE On October 1st and 2nd, IST athletes and coaches traveled to the Kamiak High School pool for our second meet of the season, 14&U October Challenge! 148 athletes attended this meet. Swimmers arrived with an excited and positive mental attitude. This meet represented the second competition opportunity of the season and provided longer races such as 100s, 200s, and the 500FR. USA Swimming recently announced its 2021-2022 Scholastic All-America list, featuring 1,281 athletes in 9-12th grade who maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average (GPA) and met any of the competition criteria during the qualifying period of September 1, 2021 - August 31, 2022. 2022 SOCKEYE SPRINTS On September 24th, IST athletes and coaches traveled to the Snohomish Aquatic Center for our first meet of the season, Sockeye Sprints! 224 athletes attended this meet. 2022 LC CHAMPIONSHIP MEETS RECAP IST ended the 2022 Long Course season with a flurry of championship meets. Championship meets represent the culmination of months of work for our athletes. Athletes went into each meet feeling loose, confident, and ready to race. Pacific Northwest Swimming recently announced team selections for the 2022 Age Group Zones team to represent the LSC at this year's Western Zone Age Group Championship meet to be held in Elk Grove, CA.
