GENERAL TEAM  INFORMATION

Mission Viejo Nadadores Masters is an excellent way to keep fit and improve your technique.  Not only do you have access to some of the best swimming in the area, you also have access to a network of world-class swimming facilities in other cities when you travel. MVN Masters also hosts a number of club-sponsored social events including trips to competitive swim meets.

Club Sponsored Social Events: Club-sponsored social events  are offered almost monthly. Team socials are broadcast by email regularly, and announced at the swim practices. Such events may include breakfasts, post-meet social outings, and the occasional get together following a practice. These events are very fun, and provide opportunities to meet team members outside of the swimming arena.

Organized Trips to Swim Events: Each year, the MVN Masters participates in a variety of out-of-town swimming meets and events. Generally, plans are made in advance to accommodate group rates on lodging, travel, and meals. Such trips may include travel to various open water races, annual or semi-annual team travel to the Master’s Nationals Championships, and even some international team travel to meets. By traveling as a team, we greatly increase the FUN factor at such events.

Sponsor Competitive Masters Swimming Meets: Each year, the MVN Masters host at least four swimming meets which are open to any registered USMS swimmer.   The four meets we host regularly are:

    * Spring Short Course Yards meet held in April

    * Summer Long Course Meters meet held in June

    * Summer Long Course Relay Meet held in July

    * Fall Short Course Meters meet held in October

Workouts Times:
Monday - Friday, 5:00-6:00 AM, Monday - Friday, 6:00-7:00,  Monday - Friday, 9:00-10:00 AM and Monday - Friday, 12:00-1:00 PM, Monday-Friday and 7:30-8:30 PM.  In addition, we also have workouts on Saturday, 6:00-7:00 AM and 7:00-8:00 AM and Sunday, 8:30-10:00 AM.

Where to Swim in Other Cities: We do encourage our members to stay in swimming shape while out of town. Therefore, we provide lists of pools available and contacts when possible, in the towns where one may be traveling.  This information is also available on the USMS website www.USMS.org.

Special Swim Clinics: Stroke clinics will generally be offered in the fall, winter, and spring months to provide opportunities for specific stroke improvement. Coaches will break strokes down into all components, including the kick, the pull, and the finish, as well as starts and turns.

One-on-One Personal Clinics: For those new to swimming, or those desiring to work on specific aspects of their own training, the coach offers this service for a fee. Training is arranged directly with the desired coach, and sessions generally run 30 to 60 minutes. These can be weekly sessions, once- every so often, or once-in-a-lifetime. You can e-mail to schedule a session.
