Super-Slow Swimming

Super-slow swimming drills offer several benefits, helping you improve your technique and overall performance.

Here are some key advantages:

Enhanced Technique: Swimming slowly allows you to focus on perfecting your stroke technique. You can pay attention to details like hand placement, high elbow catch, and body position without the distraction of speed.

Improved Balance and Coordination: Super-slow swimming helps you maintain balance and coordination. It ensures that your body remains aligned, and your movements are smooth and controlled.

Better Feel for the Water: By swimming slowly, you can develop a better feel for the water. This helps you understand how to move efficiently and effectively through the water.

Increased Awareness: Slowing down allows you to become more aware of your movements and how each part of your body contributes to your stroke. This heightened awareness can lead to more efficient swimming.

Reduced Fatigue: Practicing super-slow swimming can be less physically demanding, allowing you to focus on technique without getting overly tired. This can be particularly useful during recovery swims or cool-downs.

Relaxation and Stress Reduction: Swimming slowly can be a relaxing activity, helping you to unwind and reduce stress. It provides a break from high-intensity training and allows for mental relaxation.

Start now incorporating super-slow swimming drills into your regular training to help you refine your technique and become more efficient in the water.

Good Luck!
Coach Mark
