5. SWIM TIPS FROM COACH MARK
Improving timing in breaststroke is crucial for efficiency and speed.
Here are some tips to help you synchronize your stroke:
Pull and Kick Coordination: Your arms should be propulsive while your legs recover, and vice versa. This continuous propulsion helps maintain momentum.
Rhythm and Flow: Focus on developing a smooth and natural rhythm. Your stroke should feel like a continuous cycle without pauses or jerks.
Drills:
One Pull, Three Kicks: After your arms sweep out, begin your in-sweep, kick, and glide. This drill emphasizes the importance of gliding after each stroke.
Breaststroke Arms with Flutter Kick: This drill helps maintain a steady speed and improves arm recovery speed.
Remember, practice makes perfect. Incorporate these tips into your training, and you’ll likely see improvements in your breaststroke timing.
Keep swimming!
