SILENT AUCTION UPDATE
What an incredible response — nearly every item received bids! If you haven’t touched base with me yet, please reach out so we can arrange to get your winnings into your hands.
A few remaining items will be available for bidding at the SW Zone Meet, August 15–17, so there’s still a chance to score something great.
A huge thank-you goes out to our workout groups for the generous donations and to our amazing committee — Stephanie Peacock, Lisa Zawistoski, and Allison Kari — for securing additional auction items.
Together, we raised over $9,000!
Your support made this possible, and it means the world.

5. WORD FROM COACH MARK
Why We Train with Gear — And Why It Makes You Faster
Every tool we use in the pool is chosen with purpose, not just to change things up, but to make you a stronger, smarter swimmer.
Swim Paddles: These build upper body strength and increase awareness of your hand position in the water. You'll feel every catch and pull more clearly, which helps refine your stroke and boost power.
Pull Buoy: By isolating your arms and keeping your hips elevated, the pull buoy lets you focus fully on your upper body technique without kicking. It helps build a strong, stable core and streamlines your body position.
Fins: Fins encourage a faster kick tempo and reinforce proper ankle flexibility. They also create more propulsion, which means you can swim at higher speeds and train your stroke timing under race-like conditions.
Snorkel: The snorkel allows you to eliminate the distraction of turning to breathe so you can zero in on stroke mechanics, head position, and body alignment. It’s one of the best tools for perfecting technique.
The Bottom Line
Each piece of equipment helps target specific skills, and over time, this focused development adds up. You’ll be more efficient in the water, more powerful in your strokes, and ultimately, faster when it counts.
Let’s train smarter — and get faster, together.
