 Is Competition Really Necessary?

Not always — but it can be one of the most powerful tools for personal growth.

Competition isn’t about medals or rankings. It’s about setting a goal, committing to the process, and discovering what you're truly capable of. When you sign up for a swim meet, you're not just racing others — you're racing your own doubts, your own limits, and your own past.

The real victory lies in showing up. Whether you finish first or last, you’ve already won by choosing to challenge yourself. The only true loss is in never trying.

Masters swimming is unique. It’s not about beating the swimmer in the next lane — it’s about becoming a better version of yourself. Every meet is a celebration of effort, progress, and community. It’s a chance to feel alive, to push your boundaries, and to share the joy of swimming with teammates who cheer you on no matter what.

At Nadadores Masters, we believe that every swimmer who steps onto the pool deck is a winner. You're part of a team that values growth, positivity, and the courage to try. Every stroke you take in competition builds confidence, resilience, and pride.

5. NADADORES FOUNDATION MEETING

Please join us for the MVNF Annual Meeting and MVNF Board of Directors Elections on October 15, 2024, at 6:00 pm, at the Norman P. Murray Center (24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo).

Hear the year in review from the MVNF Board and learn what is in store for the future from our Executive Director, Michele Mitchell. Candidates for the Board of Directors will also introduce themselves.

All swim families in attendance will receive two (2) hours of service for attending.

Open Call for MVNF Board Members: This notice also serves as a call to those interested in serving on the MVNF Board of Directors.

Swim: There are three (3) open board positions for a three-year term.

All candidates must complete the MVNF Board of Directors application and submit a biography circulated to the membership. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Swim Office, [email protected].

All applications are due no later than Friday, September 26, 2025, @ 5 pm. Candidates are encouraged to attend and speak at the Annual Meeting
