DFAC NEWS 2022-05-09 Kudos to all of our swimmers for a fun meet! We were very pleased with their swims- our new and experienced swimmers are off to a great start. There is a lot for our swimmers to remember and a lot of skills to learn. DQs and missed events are part of the process of learning how meets work. We let the kids know that it is OK, and we ask what could be done differently next time and offer guidance when needed. When you see the swims...
Our FIRST HOME MEET is FINALLY here!!!! Coach Tammy sent out an email earlier this week with what to bring, what not to bring and what time to arrive Heat Sheets are now posted on the DFAC site under ‘Meets/Events’, ‘Hosted Events’ VOLUNTEERS-PLEASE CHECK YOUR TIMES. As stated in a previous email from Katerina, Times were estimates until we had all swimmer registrations in and better idea of when AM Session would start and PM Session would begin based on number of swimmers. Your ‘shift’ time may have adjusted. For...
Our FIRST HOME MEET at the new pool is around the corner!!! As a reminder, it is an expectation of all swimmers to participate in home meets and all members to fill a volunteer position per swimmer (even if your swimmer(s) is not swimming). A volunteer fee of $100 will be applied to your account if you do not fill the volunteer requirement. The intent is not to collect money for the club, rather encourage you to find someone to take your place if unable to fulfill. WE ARE STILL...

Congratulations to all of our swimmers for an excellent showing at Regionals! The teamwork and sportsmanship on display by DFAC were impressive and made me proud. Our older swimmers looked after the younger ones, the kids worked to make new swimmers feel welcome, there was a lot cheering at the end of the lanelines, and swimmers stayed or came back to count for a teammate or cheer them on in a time trial. We are a swim family= Thank you, parents, for looking after the all of the kids, and...
DFAC NEWS 2022-02-08 Regionals- last day to sign up is today, Tuesday, Feb. 8th. Regionals is an end of season meet for many- a chance to get your best time after a taper, and a last chance to get a state qualifying time. Those with state qualifying times cannot swim in those events at regionals. For 12&U there is a bonus that allows you to go to state if you win the event (not the heat, but the event). Waunakee meet Kudos to all of our swimmers- they did a...
We hope you had a good time watching the kids at our mock meet. While it did not exactly replicate a meet, it did give a good understanding of meet basics and the kids had fun. Please see the list of reminders for future meets. A big thank you to: -Rick Potter, Coach Cindy’s husband, who has worked as an official for many years and continues to support the sport and our team with his knowledge and time. -Joe Parker who set up the timing system, and gathered gear for...

To help protect our swim family please be sure to follow all of our rules. To reduce transmission, please be tested when exposures or symptoms occur. Your family might be relatively safe, but some of our families have a higher risk of complications. Report exposures and test results to our registrar, Jenny Touchet, who is overseeing our Covid-19 policies. Jenny can be reached at [email protected] The pool policy differs slightly from the general school policy since the kids are in the water without masks. Masks are required in the building...
Happy Friday! Attached is the handout from Wednesday's meeting. Most of the information can be found on the dfacswimming.org website so try to take some time to check that out. If you haven't already, please head to simplyswimming.org/dfac to order a team suit, swim cap, and any team apparel. Feel free to share the link as well. If you didn't get a chance for your swimmer to try on a suit, Simply Swimmimg is located on the corner of Branch and University in Middleton. They're happy to help fit suits,...
