JunioR II
When swimmers work into the JUNIOR II group, they know that if they work hard, they will get the best results from their efforts. To be asked into this group, a swimmer must have demonstrated a commitment to the sport of swimming and have the approval of the Director of Athlete Development. The primary age group is usually 12- 14 years or grades six through eight. Swimmers are required to attend 100% of the available practices with few exceptions, and regularly scheduled competitions. Dryland and strength training will also be incorporated into their practice schedules.
PRACTICE DAYS
Monday-Friday and Saturday.
PRACTICE OBJECTIVES
In this group, we ask for an increased level of commitment, which is an average of 6 practices per week. The swimmer will work on proper technique and will begin to build endurance at a higher rate during training. Coaches will help each swimmer set goal times appropriate to his or her current skill level, with personal improvement as the primary focus. Participation in meets at the highest level of qualification is expected. Please refer to the Team Calendar on our main page for practice times and locations.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Falcons team cap at practice during the week. Saturdays are reserved for caps of the athletes' choice. Well-fitting suit (such as jammers for boys and 1-piece for girls), cap, goggles, silicone fins, paddles, snorkel, full water bottle and mesh bag. Nose plugs are optional, but encouraged.
