Junior 2

Age Group: Swimmers ages 9–12 (advanced 8-year-olds by coach discretion)

Overview: Junior 2 is for athletes with basic technique in all four strokes who are ready for structured training. We focus on refining stroke mechanics, learning legal starts/turns/finishes, and building aerobic fitness.

Practice Schedule:

  • Monday: 6:15–7:30 pm (6:15–6:30 dryland/stretch • 6:30–7:30 swim)

  • Wednesday: 6:15–7:30 pm (6:15–6:30 dryland/stretch • 6:30–7:30 swim)

  • Friday: 6:15–7:30 pm (6:15–6:30 dryland/stretch • 6:30–7:30 swim)

  • Sunday: 11:00 am–12:00 pm (pool session)

Required Equipment:

  • Team suit

  • Goggles

  • Swim cap

Goals:

  • Clean, legal technique in all four strokes plus starts/turns/finishes

  • Improved aerobic base and interval training skills

  • Consistent practice habits, lane etiquette, and listening skills

  • Readiness for dual meets and entry-level invitationals
