Senior Elite

Age Group: Elite swimmers ages 13 & up

Overview: Senior Elite is MEY’s highest training group, built for athletes targeting State/JO cuts, Zones, Sectionals and beyond. Practices are demanding and emphasize advanced technique, speed endurance, race strategy, and high-performance habits—physical, technical, and mental.

Practice Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: 6:45–9:00 pm (6:45–7:30 dryland • 7:30–9:00 swim)

  • Sunday: 7:00–9:00 pm (pool session; dryland added as scheduled on calendar)

Required Equipment:

  • Team suit

  • Goggles

  • Swim cap

  • Fins

  • Pull buoy

  • Paddles

  • Snorkel

  • (Kickboard optional; mesh equipment bag recommended)

Goals:

  • Peak at championship meets (States/JO, Zones, Sectionals); pursue qualifying standards.

  • Execute advanced race strategies: pace plans, underwaters, tempo changes, and turns.

  • Build high-level consistency: attendance, nutrition/hydration, recovery, and pre-race routines.

  • Lead by example—model sportsmanship, resilience, and mentor younger teammates.
