MEY MANTA RAYS PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

1. I will not encourage or engage, nor encourage or engage my child(ren) or any other person(s) to conduct themselves in an un-sportsman like manner with any coach, parent, swimmer, participant, official or any other attendee.

2. I will not, nor encourage my child(ren) or any other person, to engage in any behavior that would endanger the health, safety or well-being of any coach, parent, swimmer, participant, official or any other attendee.

 3. I will not use drugs or alcohol while attending an MEY Manta Rays Swim Team practice, dual meet, or social event when children are present. I will not coach, officiate, or serve as a working volunteer, in an MEY Manta Rays Swim Team event while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. (Alcohol Exclusions: Fundraising Events where children are not present, after hours during a meet trip, or end of season/National’s banquet)

 4. I will not permit my child(ren) to use drugs or alcohol at an MEY Manta Rays Swim Team event.

5. I will not encourage, nor encourage my child(ren)or any other person to engage in the use of profanity.

6. I will not engage, and I will not encourage my child(ren) to engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, swimmer, player, participant, official or any other attendee.

7. I will and I will encourage my child(ren) to treat any coach, parent, swimmer, participant, official or any other attendee with the respect the deserve, regardless of race, creed, color, nation of origin, sex, sexual orientation or ability or disability.

 8. I will not initiate, nor encourage my child(ren), or any other person to initiate a fight or scuffle with any coach, parent, swimmer, participant, official or any other attendee.

 9. I will not abuse the equipment, facilities or supplies either owned, supplied, rented or utilized by MEY Manta Rays Team.

10. I will not use my cell phones, nor encourage any other person to use their photographic or video recording capabilities “behind the blocks”, or inside the locker rooms during dual meets, invitationals or any other organized competitive MEY Manta Rays swimming events.

11. I will make sure that when my child(ren) arrives at the swim facility, my child(ren) is/are will immediately report to the pool deck for practice. I have informed my child(ren) that locker rooms are not social places. I will ensure that my child(ren) exit the locker room as soon as possible after practice.

12. I will not interrupt, coach from the sidelines, or engage with swimmers or coaches during practice. I will address any questions or concerns before or after practice, or via email.

As a family member of a swimmer(s) on the MEY Manta Rays Swim Team, I understand, and agree to, the above code of conduct for all parents. I understand that violating the code of conduct could result in disciplinary action by the MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Parent Board of Directors. Disciplinary action will include but not be limited to the following in any order or combination: 1. Verbal warning issued by the MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Board. 2. Written warning issued by the MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Board. 3. Suspension term, up to including single or multiple month or season suspension from attending MEY Manta Rays team functions issued by the MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Parent Board of Directors.

10. I will make sure that when I arrive at the swim facility, I will immediately report to the pool deck for practice or competitions. Locker rooms are not social places, and I will exit the locker room as soon as possible after practice, or competition.

11. I will attend swim practice if that is the reason was dropped off at the YMCA for. I will not use other parts of the facility (such as the gym or lounge areas) unless my parent or guardian has given direct permission and is aware that I am not at practice.

As a swimmer(s) on the MEY Manta Rays  Swim Team, I understand, and agree to, the above code of conduct. I understand that violating the code of conduct could result in disciplinary action by the MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Coaches, MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Parent Board of Directors. Disciplinary action will include but not be limited to the following in any order or combination: 1. Verbal warning issued by the MEY Coaches or MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Board. 2. Written warning issued by the MEY Coaches, or MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Board. 3. Suspension term, up to and including practice days, dual meets, invitational meets, or single or multiple month or season suspension from attending MEY Manta Rays  team functions, social or competitive events, issued by the MEY Manta Rays Team Coaches, and/or MEY Manta Rays Swim Team Parent Board of Directors.
