The MEY Manta Ray Team has a proud tradition of swimming excellence, achieving success. When your child joins our team, you become part of the MEY Manta Ray family, too! Running a successful swim team relies on the support and involvement of all our families. Parent volunteers are essential for swim meets to take place.
To ensure fair participation from every family, we require a Work Bond commitment of up to
$300 per family per season. (This does not include potential penalties outlined below.) This commitment can be fulfilled through various volunteer roles, including timing, setup and breakdown, operating the Colorado Timing and Meet Manager systems, marshaling, officiating, team committees, and more. Our goal is to distribute the workload evenly so that no family is overburdened.
Meeting the minimum volunteer points is just the beginning. We encourage families to continue volunteering even after reaching their point requirement. This helps ensure that every swim meet and team function runs smoothly, especially when your child is participating. All families are expected to volunteer as needed, regardless of their point status.
Please note that failing to earn the required points or pay any related fines will result in your swimmer(s) being unable to participate in future swim meets or YMCA programs. Additionally, any unpaid fines will prevent registration for the upcoming swim season. If you need help meeting your points for the season, it is your responsibility to reach out to the volunteering coordinator for assistance.
Point System*
- Each family is required to accumulate 3 points for the season for the first swimmer
- The required number of points is based on volunteer positions worked at Dual Meets, Invitational Meets, Intrasquad Meets (i.e., Lollipop Meet, Last Chance Meets, etc.), and our team-hosted Spooky Sprints Invitational Meet
- Volunteer positions and associated point values can be found on the following page

*All volunteer positions may not be available at all meets and are subject to change, and additional volunteer positions may be added as needed. Championship meets are excluded from the point system outlined on the following page – parents of swimmers attending these meets will be required to fulfill additional volunteer positions. The MEY Parent Board reserves the right to adjust the seasonal Work Bond volunteer roles at any time.

Authorization to Charge Card on File
I/we authorize the YMCA of MEWSA/MEY Swim Team to charge the payment card on file for any unpaid work bond amount resulting from unworked shifts at the end of the tracking period (or upon withdrawal from the program), not to exceed the total work bond value listed above. I/we understand this is a condition of participation and that the charge will reflect only the unmet portion of the Work Bond Requirement. I/we also understand that if a replacement adult volunteer is arranged and approved in advance by the team, full credit will be awarded to our family.
By signing below, I/we acknowledge that the MEY Swim Team requires each family to complete a minimum number of volunteer shifts (“Work Bond Requirement”) during the season. If the Work Bond Requirement is not met, I/we authorize MEY to charge the payment card on file for the unmet portion as outlined below.
[ ] I/We understand and give permission for the card on file to be charged for the unpaid work bond amount if requirements are not met.
