Board Positions

What are the board positions?

The Storm Aquatics board is made up of seven (7) positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Technology Chair, At-Large Member, and Head Coach

How are board members elected?

At the annual meeting each fall, a vote will take place by the entire membership to elect members into open positions.

How can I become a member of the Board of Directors?

Each spring, the board will send out a request for nominations.  Simply reply to the email or nominate yourself either at the spring awards banquet or floor nominate yourself at the annual meeting.

 

Board Meetings

How often are board meetings scheduled?

The Board of Directors meets once a month. Dates for the Board Meetings will be posted on the website under the “Meets/Events tab”. If meetings are ever going to be rescheduled due to conflicts, emails will be sent out to notify the membership.

Are non-board members allowed to attend board meetings?

All Board Meetings are open meetings and may be attended by any member. The only exception is when the Board of Directors calls a closed session to discuss sensitive issues.

How can I get an item on the board meeting agenda?

Any member may bring an item to the Board of Directors during the New Business portion of the Board Meeting Agenda. New Business is on the agenda for every Board Meeting. Also you can contact the Board President and they can add any items to the Agenda before the meeting.

 

Committees

What committees exist in Storm Aquatics?

Other than the Board, there are several committees that meet throughout the year that help make Storm Aquatics a success. These include: Development/Fundraising, the Meet Committee, Social Committee, Communication Committee, and the New Parent Liaison Committee

Where can I found out more about the committees and potentially join one?

Each committee has a lead & an email address. Check out the committee structure here and email the lead to become a part of the committee.

Other than the satisfaction of helping the team, are there any additional perks to being on a committee?

Why yes, there is! Committee chairs get early registration opportunities before they open to the general public.
