Storm Forecast for December 6th, 2023
Winter Juniors
Some of the fastest swimmers in the nation are headed to Westmont, IL this week to participate in the USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals meet. 28 Wisconsin swimmers (about 0.4% of all Wisconsin Swimmers) are joining the meet, including our own Trevor Nicodemus. Trevor will participate in the 100 & 200 yard breaststroke events. Good luck!
Single Age Sprint Champs
Elsewhere, we’ll be sending a team of 30 to Verona this weekend to participate in the Wisconsin LSC Single Age Championships. We’ve got some seasoned swimmers attending and even some first-timers, too. It promises to be an exciting weekend.
Nationals
Meanwhile, Stella Hague will be splitting her weekend between Single Age and USA Cycling’s Cyclocross Nationals in Louisville. Our kids never stop!

Meet Notes
+The deadline for away teams to submit entries to the Winter classic is in about 90 minutes. We’re looking at a slightly smaller, much more manageable meet this year which ought to be a lot of fun. Timeline details will be put up this weekend.
+We’ve been starting the prep work for our Tropical Storm & above groups to gear them up for the Distance Challenge on 12/27. It includes a 500 free and 1000 free for our newer swimmers and a 1650 for our baddest, bravest swimmers. If you’re not sure whether or not your child should take part, ask your coach. Thunderstorm will sit this meet out, but most others are ready. This works as a great way for our swimmers to get out of their comfort zone and get that feeling of accomplishment in tackling a big obstacle.
+On the weekend of 1/12, there are a pair of meets--it’s not necessary to do both. One or the other is fine!
+All the pertinent details are up for the 12&U travel meet to Oswego. We’ll take exactly one bus load of children. Currently, the bus is 50% full.
