Winter Classic Recap

We’ve been running a version of the Winter Classic since 2016, only interrupted by terrible snowstorm and global pandemic.  This, by far, was the easiest to plan and smoothest to run version of the meet.  We swam really well as a team, but there were so many people helping to make it work so that no one person had to do all the heavy lifting.  Thank you to all the people who helped in the setup, recruiting, meet labor, cleanup—all the pieces that made our meet run so effectively yet again.  By now, most of you have been to enough meets to know what a bad meet feels like, whether it be the crowding or long sessions or poor customer service.  I do think we run some of the best meets in Wisconsin.

Distance Challenge Deadline Looming

We’ve got 60+ swimmers committed to the Distance Challenge a week from today.  But we have 86 swimmers who aren’t confirmed either way.  So that I’m not doing a lot of organizing on Christmas Day, can you take a few minutes to mark your swimmer as yes or no now?   

If your swimmer is a Tropical, Cyclone, Hurricane, Typhoon, or Senior--there IS an event that works for them.  Even if your swimmer isn’t confident, we can get them from point A to point B.

Rising Stars Dual on 1/5
The Rising Stars dual is open to all training groups, so long as your swimmer doesn’t have state cuts for February.  We will only have Typhoon/Senior practicing that morning, so anyone who wants their swimmer to get some water time after the break—this is your opportunity.  We’re eyeing a 9:45 meet start time, so we should be done by noon.
