Getting Into a Routine
Any parent of our Thunderstorm swimmers this week saw a very different group from last week. Our Thunderstorm 1 group is starting to find their order in their lanes, starting to understand terminology, and are quickly getting used to the system. Our Thunderstorm 2 group is doing a great job watching the clock, remembering details, and even getting the first pieces of butterfly. Both groups are way less squirrely than they were one week ago. Tropical Storm is quickly getting back to where they left off, and our Typhoons have handed everything I’ve thrown at them. Needless to say, we’re seeing progress happening quickly. I hope it appears to parents as they watch, too.
Also, a happy note for our Thunderstorm 1 families after today’s practice: the vole did not have to go to a farm up north, he lives!
Waiting On Apparel Order
A quick note…we’ve had a few families ask about a fall apparel order. We WILL have one, done by Elite Embroidery in town. I believe they’re putting the final touches on an online store for us. As soon as I have details to share, we’ll send them out.
Meet Schedule & Signups
Meet deadlines for our swim meets vary wildly. For home meets, it’s around 10 days before the meet. For some away meets, it can be as early as a MONTH in advance. For the Rising Stars meets, it’s as few as the week of the meet. We try to clearly note in the meet titles the deadlines and warn families 48 hours prior to the deadline.
If you know your swimmer won’t be attending a meet, please decline them on the website. It makes our lives easier and keeps you from getting as many emails. If you’re only able to do certain days or sessions, just do what you’re able—you can mark notes if there’s something special we need to know about leaving early for another sport, or an injury, or whatever else you need to share. Just so you know: I ignore pretty much all event requests. Events are picked by coaches that see the swimmers often, and there will be a rhyme and reason to the event lineup 90% of the time.
We’re still waiting on other teams to get their meets sanctioned. Every single away meet that we’ve got for 2024 is still waiting to be sanctioned!
Practice Changes
Friday PM, all Sun Prairie West practices will be moved to Sun Prairie East (West is hosting a swim meet). Friday PM at TPC Wisconsin remains unchanged.

Blood Drive
