New (and Confused) Family Check-In

I’ve tried to pace out my long-winded educational pieces so as not to scare away new families, and I’d guess it’s left some of our newer families wishing they could corner a coach and ask a few questions.  Well, it’s time! This Sunday at 5pm, we’re going to have a virtual meeting for families with new swimmers, or experienced families needing a bit of guidance.  I’ll have a few topics to start with, then the floor will be yours for questions.  We’ll record it for those that can’t be there.

Fundraising Opportunities

We have a pair of easy ways to support the team coming up.

  1. We’ve created a FlipGive page.  FlipGive is an app that allows organizations to earn cashback on purchases made through a wide variety of online vendors—practically all the ones you can think of!   2. Culver's Share Night   On November 20th from 5-8P we will be having a share night at the Culver's near SP West (50 Oxford Pl, Sun Prairie, WI 53590). This share night is a little different in that we need at least 4 adult volunteers at Culver's for the duration of the event. If you are able to, please consider volunteering and sign up here.

Facility Access

As things are getting colder, now is a great time to review Sun Prairie’s pool access policy.  10 minutes prior to the start of practice, they’ll open the exterior doors to the school for us.  5 minutes before practice begins, we’re able to go onto the pool deck if a Storm coach is present.  Please don’t drop your swimmer off more than 10 minutes before practice—the aquatics staff does NOT like it.  And if a Storm coach isn’t ready to walk in with your swimmer, don’t let them go in. 

All of these rules apply to the first group each day.  Once the pool is ours, we’re free to go in and out as we need.

West Chicago Travel Meet

A late addition to our schedule is the West Chicago Travel Meet.  This meet is open to any and all 13&O boys.  They’ll travel as a group, stay as a group, compete as a group.  The meet will take place November 15-17, 2024 in Joliet IL.  If you have questions about the meet, reach out to Coach Lake.
