East vs West Meet
SP East and SP West Boys Booster Clubs are hosting a Swim Community Youth Night this Friday at SP West during their rivalry meet. The meet will start at 5:30 at and has lots of fun activities planned. Details can be found on our event page. We believe that when our young swimmers, especially our boys, see high school boys compete at a high level it’ll give them something to strive for and will help keep them in the sport of swimming longer.
Meet Odds & Ends
Single Age Champs
For the 29 swimmers attending the Single Age Championship Meet this weekend, full details are now posted. Our planning guide has just about everything you could ask for, the rest is on the meet host page. Please note that the shirts, caps, and pizza is FRIDAY at 5pm at Glass Nickel Pizza on Main Street. After everyone has digested their food, then we’ll do some work at East.
Thunderstorm/Hurricane Time Trial
The Meet
A closed time trial for Thunderstorm & Hurricane, no entry fees. Little to no volunteering, perfect for new swimmers and new families alike. If you’re coming, please bring a pack of new underwear for the clothing drive.
The Volunteer Effort
Seniors and Typhoons have been emailed about volunteering for the event. Please consider helping make this event a success.
The Clothing Drive
Even if you’re not part of the event, it would be fantastic if during your Christmas shopping you picked up a pack of kids’ underwear for the Clothing Drive. It’s important to our Typhoon group that their first foray into community service projects bears some fruit. We’ll have a box at East and West pools for the week leading up to the meet.
Distance Challenge
We’re working our younger age groups up in both distance and confidence for the Distance Challenge on 12/30.. It’s open to all groups but Thunderstorm. Please consider having your swimmer take part—it’s a great introduction to the longer races.
Storm Winter Classic
Signup is now open for our Winter Classic Meet. It’s the big one, two full days of competition. It would make a huge help for the team if everyone participated in at least one day of the meet.

A New Fundraiser
In reviewing our previous survey to members, we’re trying to rotate 3 big fundraisers, one per year. Last year as you remember we did the reverse raffle. Next year: dusting off the Storm-A-Thon. This year, we’re doing a shrimp sale. By far, the tastiest of the three options. If each family commits to buying (or selling to a neighbor) just one bag, it would have a huge, far-ranging effect for the team.
