A Brief One This Week…

We’re knee-deep in preparation for the TYR Winter Classic this weekend at Sun Prairie West.  Over 500 swimmers are signed up over the two days, but fear not—no crazy timelines.  This meet is massive for Storm as a club.  As a fundraiser, as a volunteer & official development system, and as a prelims/finals experience for our swimmers—this meet accomplishes a lot for many.  I’ll touch more on the prelims/finals aspect in a separate email for those it applies to, tomorrow.

Meet Odds & Ends

Distance Challenge

We had a fantastic turnout for the Distance Challenge over the break.  We’ll highlight some of the specifics later this week but the short version: we saw many of our swimmers take a big leap in confidence.  We saw swimmers go from “completing” the 1650 to “racing,” which is a big jump.  It’s a crazy hodgepodge of timers to make this work, so thanks to everyone who timed way more swimmers than they needed to make it work.

Mid States All Stars Meet

Last weekend, I took a team of the top swimmers in Wisconsin to Indianapolis to represent the LSC in the Mid States All Star Meet, against swimmers from Minnesota, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.  It’s a big deal of a meet.  On that roster was our own Claire Rundahl.  Congratulations on qualifying for the meet—we’re proud of you!
