Another Busy Weekend…

This weekend, Wisconsin Swimming will be hosting its annual meetings at the Kalahari Resort at the Dells. We’ll be down a coach Friday PM as I’m on the Board of Directors.  Saturday, Storm will be opening up the lazy river to practice open water swimming at 8am.  We’ve got 30 Storm swimmers signed up along with some swimmers from Ashwaubenon.  Be sure to bring your gear bags!

Following that, over EIGHTY swimmers, siblings, friends, and family members will be turned loose on the waterpark at 10am.  For those of you attending, you can pick up tickets from me between 9:45 and 10:05 at the waterpark entrance. 

From there, I’ll put on my Club Development Chair hat, hosting meetings with a few Wisconsin Swimming Clubs before going into the big meeting, the House of Delegates meeting.  There we’ll have myself, Erin, and Addy Harms (our new athlete rep!) voting for all the important items of the day for Wisconsin Swimming.   So if you wonder, “where’s Michael this weekend?  Is he out skipping practice to golf?”—NO.  Hours, and hours of Robert’s Rules of Order.

Kalahari for You

If you still want to be part of either portion of the Kalahari Saturday, you’ve got a little bit of time to sign up.  The lazy river portion, that’ll be open through Saturday.  That portion of the day is reserved for swimmers under 9:00 in their 500 freestyle.  Part 2, the fun at the waterpark, is open for signup through Thursday morning at 10am.  Buy tickets here and get your wristband Saturday morning at the park.   

Capital Campaign

One week remains for the Capital Campaign.  We’ve crossed the $6,000 barrier but we’ll need some help getting closer to that target amount.

If you’re interested and want to give, there is a shortcut right on the homepage.  Click the banner and look for the green “Please Donate” button.  It’s not necessary to go through the “Find Participants,” button, that’s more for Swim-A-Thons and situations where someone donates in the name of someone else.

Golf Scramble

Storm coaches did a test run of the front 9 last week at Prairie Pines, for the sake of science.  Someone birdied Hole 8.  <It wasn’t me>  But, we had a blast alternating being bad.  You’ll have fun too, at our annual golf scramble on May 4^th.  If you’re interested in playing or sponsoring, click here.
