Storm Forecast for May 1st, 2025
Ready for This Weekend?
In 2023, we had our first Spring Scramble Meet—279 athletes, 90 were Storm.
Last year, 366 athletes, 96 were Storm.
This year: 443 athletes, 115 are Storm.
Whoa!
Add to that our largest golf scramble total for Sunday, and we’ve got ourselves a pretty big weekend for a lot of people! Whether you’re swimming, golfing, or supporting the events—thank you! Breaking records like this is really, really fun and we couldn’t do it without you.
Last Weekend
Speaking of records broken, we had our largest Open Water Training morning in recent memory last Saturday morning, followed by over 80 folks from Storm and Ashwaubenon take over the waterpark afterwards. Finally, we capped off Saturday winning the big to co-host next year’s Regional Champs with McFarland again—a great weekend. A special thank you to our new athlete representative, Addy Harms.
Scramble (and Future) Photographer?
One of the things we’d like to do better with at this year’s golf scramble is capturing moments—ie., getting a photographer. If you’d be interested in being a photographer for the scramble this Sunday, shoot me a message. We’ll let you buzz around on a golf cart and give you a $50 credit on your account.
Also, with our meet photographer’s child graduating, we’re looking to get a new photographer for home meets. They’ll need to be USA Registered, Safesport cleared, but we can help with that process. Let us know if you’re interested, it WILL count as your volunteer role for home meets.
Capital Campaign
Sunday’s golf scramble will be the last event for the Capital Campaign. We’ve snuck over $7,000, just under 50% of our goal. Friends and family will be able to donate at both of our events this weekend, through cash, Venmo, or on the website. To the many donors thus far, thank you! Even if we don’t get all the items on our list, we’ll definitely improve what we can do as a club with the money raised.
If you’re interested and want to give, there is a shortcut right on the homepage. Click the banner and look for the green “Please Donate” button. It’s not necessary to go through the “Find Participants,” button, that’s more for Swim-A-Thons and situations where someone donates in the name of someone else.
