Fall Schedule Posted

Given the limited cards we’ve been dealt for the fall (TPC Wisconsin getting some fall renovations, SP East Girls starting late), we’ve done a bit of adjusting from last fall.  It means we do have ONE early PM group, Tropical Storm.  We looked carefully at four different school district’s bell schedules, assistant coach staffing, group sizes, and other variables.  So, Tropical will start at 4:20P daily at SP East; the rest of the groups going on after high school practices conclude.  So long as *that* group isn’t disrupted too badly, the rest of the groups look GREAT with nobody up too late.  We’ll be plugging dryland times in as we get them.

Fall Training Groups

We anticipate a similar group structure from this fall to last year, with two Thunderstorm groups, the full slate of 11-14 groups, etc.  As a coaching staff, we’ve already met a few times to talk about who will be in what group, but we’ll start informing families after we get a last look of things for the Regional weekend.  The week of 13&O state we’ll start the notification process for children moving groups.

Storm Saves

We’re continuing the annual tradition of offering a week of entry level water safety & swim lessons for those that couldn’t otherwise afford them, with the goal of helping to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be safe in the water.  Lessons will take place July 28-31 at Sun Prairie East High School.  New for this year, we’ll be adding a small group of adult lessons.  If you know of someone who might benefit from free lessons, please point them here.  As has always been the case, these sessions are due in large part to the generosity of our 13&O swimmers.  If you have a 13&O athlete that would like to help, please have them email me directly.

New Swimmer Evaluations

We’re already looking ahead to new swimmer evaluations for the 2025-2026 season.  Returning swimmers do NOT need to be evaluated again, but new swimmers will.  If you know of someone planning to join Storm this fall, you can share with them this link and they’ll be able to book an evaluation time over the course of the 3 weeks offered.

Practice Changes & Updates

Our roster gets much smaller starting this week—if your swimmer doesn’t have a competition left on the schedule, they’re officially on break until next session!  Masters & College swimmers will go until 7/31.

Monday, July 14^th – All East PM groups will start at 5:15P

Tuesday, July 15^th – No East PM Practice (Swim Meet) – 12&U state swimmers can swim with Senior at SP West in PM (5:30-6:45P for those groups).

Wednesday, July 16^th –

Cyclone 6:15-6:25P at SPW
Tsunami 5:15-6:25P at SPW
Hurricane 5:15-6:10P at SPW
Tropical Storm 5:15-6:05P at SPW
