Storm Forecast for November 12th, 2025
Packing for Meets
Like the battery of a cell phone left outside in January, an unprepared swimmer will drain quickly during a swim meet. We saw that a bit this weekend at MAC, with a cold pool deck catching kids off guard. The energy it takes to shiver is energy they won’t have to swim. It’s why you see NBA players with warmups on when on the bench, or Olympic level swimmers wearing a full warmup, shoes, and hats in the ready room before they compete.

A swim bag should have a few different sets of clothes, a few towels, warm socks, you name it. Here’s a list we have on our FAQs. In addition to the clothes, proper snacks are the biggest dealbreaker for the second half of a swim meet. A light breakfast will get a swimmer through warmup and a portion of the session. If they aren’t grazing on varied snacks throughout the meet, we’ll see it in their later swims. They might not have the same *pop* we’re used to seeing in their sprints, or their arms will feel heavy in the second half of a 200. Here’s a great handout with some things to pack and some things to avoid.
TL;DR: Even with great preparation throughout the week, everything can go to waste if swimmers don't pay attention to warmth and food on meet days!
Winter Registration
Saturday will mark the final practice of the fall session. If you’ve not checked the winter schedule, now is the time. A few groups have very different schedules. Initially, we were planning two days at Fall River, but it’s now looking like we’ll get access to that pool on Tuesdays only. That’ll start December 1st, and those changes are now all on the schedule.
Practice Changes & Schedule
If a day isn’t listed below, assume that the schedule is as expected without change. When in doubt, you can always check the Google Calendar. Each group is synced to their own calendar.
