We had a few FAST Falcons participate in the 2023 Florida LSC Select Camp this past weekend. Athletes were selected from the competition year of September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022 and were part of Florida's 2022 Zone travel teams, had a ranked National Top 10 time, a Swimmer of the Year, or placed in the Florida Swimming top 5 in an age group competition event from the season. The FAST pool deck was buzzing with hard working swimmers during the 2022 Winter Holiday Break! FAST hosted the #1 18 & under club team in the country, SwimMAC, for a six day training camp. We were also fortunate to visit with the American Swim Coaches' Association technique expert, Russell Mark, who spent time educating swimmers and coaches on the lastest technical trends at the elite level. Hello FAST Falcons Families: We recently published our Winter Practice Schedule, which will cover our groups from January 4th- March 19th (the end of Spring Break). Most groups will not see a change, although we have a few tweaks. Please note: The National group is now called Senior 2. Morning practices will be on Monday and Thursdays. On Friday, December 16th, many of our 6th-9th grade girls in the Junior, Senior 1, Senior 2, and White groups had a fantastic Swimmer Mindset Seminar with Coach Gemma. Several of the FAST Falcons in the Senior and Junior groups enjoyed a butterfly and backstroke clinic with Olympic Gold Medal Coach Kim Brackin! Swimmers had a classroom and in-water skills session learning about the body positions, kick, and power pull phase of each stroke. It was a great learning experience, especially coming off such a successful Gator Meet this weekend!

On November 18th and 19th, USA Swimming representatives Dana Skelton and Beth Winkowski visited the FAST Falcons. They ran workshops and classroom sessions for the swimmers, parents, and coaches.
